Top award winners at Peradeniya University Colours Award

on right: T.E. Wickremasinghe of Science Faculty receives award
for the Best Allround Sportsman of the Year. The University of
Peradeniya Colours Nite celebrations were held last week at the
University Gymnasium.

COLOURS AWARDS: To Science Faculty student T. E. Wickremasinghe of
University of Peradeniya went the honour of being adjudged the Best
Allround Sportsman for the Year while Miss A. C. Kulathanthrige of
Veterinary Science Faculty was the Best Allround Sportsman of the year.
The Best Outstanding Sportsman of the Year was R. S. Kalugampitiya of
Science Faculty. Besides the top awards, there were 146 sportsmen who
won colours for the various sports activities and there were 85
sportswomen who won colours, making it a total of 231 in all.
The colours award ceremony was held under the patronage of Prof.
S.B.S. Abeykoon, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya at the
Gymnasium.
