H.L.B. Gomes' funeral today

Former Principal of Prince of Wales and Royal College H.L.B. Gomes passed away after a brief illness. He was 69 years at the time of his death. His funeral will take place today, Sunday at Rawathawatta Cemetry, Moratuwa.

At the time of his death, he was Principal of Lyceum International School, Panadura.

Popularly known as Laxman, he was the Principal of Royal College from 1998 to 2003.

He was the President of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and held various posts in the sports bodies of Sri Lanka Schools from time to time. In 1992, he went as the manager of the Sri Lanka under-19 cricket team on its tour of England.
