Pakistan delegation to arrive for INTRAD-EXPO 2010
A delegation comprising 25 members from Pakistan will be
participating at the INTRAD-EXPO 2010 to be held from May 7 to 9, at the
BMICH, Colombo. The delegation will be headed by Abdul Rauf Tabani,
President of Pakistan-Sri Lanka Business Forum.
Tabani is also the Vice Chairman of Tabani Corporation which is
engaged in manufacturing, importing, exporting and trading of textile,
yarn, processed fabrics, home textile, garments, steel commodities,
cement, rice, wheat, sugar and fertilizer.
The Company is also engaged in Turn-key projects on railways, oil and
gas, power projects, helicopters and defence equipments as well.
The members of the delegation have shown interest in importing Sri
Lankan products and carrying out agency roles and also having joint
ventures with Sri Lankan companies.
The products they are interested in importing from Sri Lanka are
coconut by-products such as desiccated coconut, copra, coconut oil,
coconut semi husk, ekels, cocopeat, spices, black pepper, cinnamon
leaves, nutmeg with and without shell, tamarind, turmeric, cumin seeds,
coriander seeds, raw rubber, engine parts of motorbikes, food items,
Fresh fruits and vegetables, knitted and woven garments, tea, rubber,
hardboard, auto parts, PP corrugated sheets, paper and paper products
and poly ethylene and reactive dyestuffs.
The delegation is organised by V. S. Sidath Kumar, Consul General of
the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Karachi. He is also
the patron of the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Business Forum.
The delegates will also attend the Investor Forum to be held on May 8
where Sri Lankan business community will have an opportunity to meet the
delegates at the Investor Forum and have one-to-one discussions with the
Pakistan delegation.
