Asoka Peiris heads Singer

With the retirement of Hemaka Amarasuriya, Asoka Peiris has become Group Chief Executive Officer of Singer in Sri Lanka. Having taken over the reins of a formidable business conglomerate, Asoka Peiris looks forward to continuing the policies that have garnered the Singer Group so much success in the past while enacting exciting new strategic initiatives that will extend the Group’s position of dominance.

Joining Singer Industries (Ceylon) in Ratmalana in 1990 as an Accountant in the Finance Division, Peiris displayed the talent, tenacity and ethical judgment that have become cornerstones of his success.

The company, which manufactured sewing machines and televisions quickly identified and cultivated Peiris’ potential, leading to his move to Singer (Sri Lanka), the Group’s marketing arm, in 1991.

As Finance Manager, Singer (Sri Lanka), Peiris distinguished himself through his successful efforts to streamline financial systems at the Company.
