Classical Evergreens:
Norwegian Opera
On the evening of Tuesday 13June, the Norwegian
Embassy treated Colombo to the 'Classical 'Evergreens'' Opera at the
Russian Cultural Centre. The concert featured three internationally
acclaimed Norwegian Opera Singers, Rita Heigre, Nils Harald Sødal,
Anna Einarsson and talented Pianist James Duddle.

The complexities of crosswriting
The phenomenon of cross-writing can be explained
from diverse vantage points - psychological, cultural, political,
and so on. For example, the eminent cultural theorist Edward Said
who wrote in English and Arabic and French said that, 'more
interesting for me as author was the sense I had of trying always to
translate experiences that I had not only in a remote environment
but also in a different language.
