Lufthansa and Austrian Cargo to merge global activities
Lewis Brown Air Services (Pvt) Ltd, General Sales Agent in Sri Lanka
and Maldives for Lufthansa cargo will uplift cargo on Austrian Airlines,
from Sri Lanka and the Maldives, from July 1st.
Lufthansa Cargo and Austrian Airlines Cargo have merged their global
activities and Lufthansa Cargo will handle all Austrian Airlines cargo
capacity worldwide.
Sri Lankan entrepreneurs keen on profiting from European markets will
reap benefits of this exclusive arrangement, due to the integration of
the Austrian and Lufthansa Cargo route network. A member of the Delmege
Forsyth Group, Lewis Brown Air Services (PVT) Ltd, has been in
partnership with Lufthansa Cargo since the latter commenced operations
to Sri Lanka in 1993.
The alliance between the two major European Airlines and Lewis Brown
Air Services (PVT) Ltd, will now give customers more opportunities and
flexibility. From July 2010, Lewis Brown Air Services (PVT) Ltd will
uplift shipments from the Bandaranaike International Airport as an
offline service, connecting cargo on Austrian Airlines through its
gateways in New Delhi, Bombay, Dubai, and Bangkok.
This will allow Sri Lankan exporters access to Austrian Airlines
network comprising 109 continental and 9 intercontinental destinations,
opening up new frontiers of opportunity in almost 60 countries.
