He lied
As he always does
And he taught that she would not know
Yet another unfulfilled promise
Yet another lie
She has stopped counting
She has stopped wondering why
She always loved him
He was her priority
She always took care
She was a "romantic" at heart
He used to be too
The thought made her sad
He was the one, the one and only one
Time passed
Days went by
She never left his side
She was faithful, she was patient
But he can't stop the lies
He forgets everything
He forgets that she's there
He just goes on with his life
His work, his joys, his world, 'Oh Boy'
She was never the 'One'
He forgets, and then the lies
But they are sweet, sweet lies
This is the circle that the goes
She waited till she heard a loving word
At least a look, a gesture
But all hopes were lost always
This is the life she chose
She chose to have him

He brought here for the revolution
Created a new path for the nation

The Jordan flows
Monuments stand
Fresh morning wind
Drizzle of rain

It's a happier day for a bride and groom
It's a legal union for the purpose of living together
Last day for their single life
First day for their partnership
It's the one and only occasion
The couple gets
The feelings of shyness and anxiety
When they meet each other
It's the time for a girl
To give up her virginity
Now she is no more virgin
She is a married woman
It's the time for a boy
To act as a man
Now he is no more a lad
He is a married man
When time goes
Good news come
That there is a new member

Childhood then and now
We, as kids, had loads and loads of freedom and mirth
Dressed in sarongs knee-deep, bare-foot ours was the earth
Where we played "hide and seek", flew kites, climbed trees
Or just marvelled at leaves rustling in the breeze
Rushing back from school, we gulped our lunch
Took our paraphernalia and joined the familiar "bunch"
A cool dip in the lagoon, a mouthful of wild berries
How sweet, in deed, are those everlasting memories
The rat race was unheard of people had time to talk
Mutual respect and harmony thrived and bound all the folk
Freely did we, kids, roam in copses, hedges and meadows
Until we were reminded of home by evening shadows
Things have changed even kids are in tuition classes
In that there's stiff competition for higher passes
The poor ones have no way of enjoying the magic of childhood
"It's great fun being a child" is what ought to be understood
