Work on Jaffna Hospital begins

Central Hospital Jaffna

A full fledged hospital of international standard named Northern Central Hospital will be launched in Jaffna, said Dr. Keerthi Sri Edirsinghe, the Consultant engaged in the designing of the new venture.

This is a Board of Investment (BOI) approved project. Dr. Edirisinghe said that the hospital would be maintained at international level with modern medical facilities for 100 beds. This new project is the second stage of the expansion program of the Central Nursing Home already in existence for the past 30 years. The hospital will be equipped to meet the entire medical needs of the people of the peninsula.

The construction of buildings commences this month and is expected to be completed within an year.
