Lankan awarded MBA from University of Leicester (UK)
Sudam Chandima Kaluarachchi, a banker and chartered marketer was
awarded an MBA (Finance) Degree with Distinction at the Degree
Convocation held on July 13 by the University of Leicester, United
Kingdom. He secured a Distinction for his dissertation titled
‘Determinants of Maximum Accepted Bid Rate (Cut-Off Rate) of Certificate
of Deposit Auction at Central Bank of Oman’ as well.

After completing his GCE (Advanced Level) Examination at Ananda
College, Colombo, Sudam entered the University of Peradeniya where he
graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture with Second Class (Upper
Division) Honours.
He was also awarded the Best Student medal for the Diploma in
Marketing at the convocation of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing
(SLIM) in 2004.
During his career as a banker, he obtained the AIB (SL) qualification
from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) and successfully
completed the Diploma in Credit Management at IBSL. Subsequently, the
Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AATSL) offered him
Life membership.
He holds membership in professional bodies like the Chartered
Institute of Marketing (UK), Institute of Credit Management (UK), Sri
Lanka Economic Association (SLEA), Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL),
Association of Professional Bankers (APB), Association of Accounting
Technicians Sri Lanka (AATSL) and Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing
(SLIM).
He is the eldest son of Mr. Dias Kaluarachchi who retired from the
CGR as the Chief Shroff and of late Mrs. Daya Ranaweera who was serving
as the Vice Principal of Sujatha College, Matara.
