Kelani Cables program on wiring, installation techniques

Kelani Cables (Pvt) Ltd last week launched an islandwide training program for electricians on latest electrical wiring and installation techniques for industrial and housing sectors.

The objective of this program conducted free of charge is to train electricians on latest techniques which are currently used in the field of electrical installations and wiring.

The initial training program was held in the Anuradhapura district recently with the participation of 200 electricians.

Kelani Cables, Sales Promotion Manager, Channa Jayasinghe told the Sunday Observer that present day electricians are lacking in practical knowledge on latest electrical appliances and also wiring and installations methods. "This encouraged us to commence training programs in every district in the country and we request electricians to join our `Kelani Visura Society' to obtain training.

He urged youngsters who wish to be electricians in the future to be partners in this program.

He said the `Kelani Visura Society' was established under the supervision of company Managing Director, Hemantha Perera and over 300 electricians in the Badulla and Nuwara Eliya districts also received training under the program.

Kelani Cables has decided to give life insurance policies to electricians and their families considering the high risk elements of their jobs.
