Tritel offers low cost IDD calls
Millions of those who still do not own any type of telephone, fixed
or mobile could enjoy unrestricted access to destinations spanning
across the globe through the low cost IDD connectivity afforded by
Tritel.
Affordable IDD connectivity comes as part of the efforts to widen the
horizons of a whole gamut of value added services to be introduced by
Tritel for the benefit of low income groups and masses from rural and
the North Eastern regions.
With the introduction of this 'not-easy-to-rival' service, IDD calls
could be made from all Tritel pay phone booths islandwide at an
incredibly low rate. With a few coins in hand, people from all walks of
life from all over the country are thus able to connect themselves to
the destination of their choice at an unbelievably low price.
Through the launching of 'Affordable IDD for All' initiative Tritel
has effectively brought the most sought after premier destinations such
as USA within the reach of many, who hitherto did not enjoy such a
benefit.
Executive Director cum Chief Executive Officer Tritel, Nihal
Ratnayake said "Our aim is to make IDD affordable to everyone especially
those whose family members are employed overseas. Tritel has installed
payphones throughout the island including remote areas where Tritel
payphones serve as the only means of public telecommunication
available".
Tritel Services (Pvt) Ltd commenced operations in Sri Lanka in July
1997 and is the telecom arm of its parent company, Sri Inderajaya
Holdings Sdn, Bhd, a Malaysian conglomerate with diverse business
interests spanning across the globe.
