Management Club Negombo felicitates MD/CEO, Sri Lanka Insurance

Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer Sri Lanka Insurance, Mohan De Alwis was felicitated by the Management Club of Negombo recently at its first year anniversary celebrations.

Top professionals of the area representing all fields graced the occasion.

President of the club, Yoshan Fernando said that it was a great honour for the club to have one of its executive committee members appointed to the highest position at Sri Lanka Insurance, the country's largest and strongest state owned insurance company. "It's an achievement by Mohan De Alwis and we wish him success" he said.

MD/CEO Sri Lanka Insurance, Mohan De Alwis speaking on 'The importance of insurance' stressed that his choice to pursue a career in the field paved the way for him to serve the people of Sri Lanka.

"As the largest and strongest government owned insurer, Sri Lanka Insurance has a key role to play in taking the benefits insurance offers to every household in the country providing protection and care," he said.

De Alwis was appointed MD/CEO of Sri Lanka Insurance last May. He is a Director of Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC and has wide and varied managerial experience at leading corporate institutions both in Sri Lanka and overseas including Coopers & Lybrand (Botswana), Hayleys PLC, Star Garments Ltd and Smart Shirts Ltd.
