Vampires

Dream about a dark night, over the day
Till the midnight light rays fall on the graves
Signing them to leave, for daily pray
Hoping for a world of ever grey

Even evil magic powered witches
Were afraid of their behaviour
Pale white cold skin and red eyes
Which had a view of quenching thirst

When the whole earth was in sleep
They looked for snacks to taste
Blood-real human blood
Which was made as a red wine for them

Chance and luck flew far away
Welcoming the monsters of disaster
Whose greedy lips and pointed eyes
Jumped into the necks.

One day a holy cross stopped them all
Turning them to vampire bats
Which led them back to the graves
But, they still wish for a new moon
A new dawn for vampires!

Life

Life
What does it mean?
Is it all about joy and pain?
Happy memories
Keep us warm, keep us strong
All day and night
Sometimes
It is the door of sadness
Where we feel sad, pain, suffering
Life - It is just like a river
Calm and peaceful...
The apparent truth life is full of hopes, promises,
aims, dreams...
Which we should endeavour to achieve
No matter what comes
We have to be steady, tough, firm, courageous
As life is not a bed of roses!!!
Patience, we need it
To endure victory, defeat with a
Firm determination
Life, is a mystery
Full of ups and downs!!!
Though hard to believe
But face them.

Neelika Abeysuriya

The eternal verse

In the evening twilight
When I am in my vacant mind
Some bit of eternal verse of affection
Knocks at my chamber door

The divinest sense in my soul
Makes my eyes full of tears
To my pensive quietness
You are the heavenly mute music

You are the meditation never ends
Cures my pure mind
Haunts in my unharvested memories
For ever ever and ever

The poem poetised of eternal words
In which my 'Arthma' dwells in
I am wandering, fearing
The melancholy will be mortal

R.M.I. Nadeeshani Rathnayake

Tomorrow

It comes and goes
But never arrives
I like to see
Is it good or bad
I asked about it
Then all would say
Don't depend on
As sometimes
We can die
Later I knew
Tomorrow is a hope
That can bring us
Happiness or even sadness.
And if you really need
To have a tomorrow
Then therefore fear god
And do good deeds!

Your aroma

You came to me suddenly
With a bunch of laughs
Under an immature rain
I stopped after seeing
Your laughs
You smear your aroma
On my forehead
Still I'm searching for that smell
Closing my eyes
Even in my dream..

- Mangala Rupasinghe
