Special team to probe the incident

The Education Ministry will appoint a special team of officials to investigate an incident at a leading school in Ratnapura, where the G.C.E (AL) General English Paper II had been inadvertently given to students in the morning instead of the English Paper I.

A senior Education official at the Examination centre of Sumana Balika Vidyalaya told the Sunday Observer that the English paper II distributed in the morning session, instead of the English paper I was a genuine mistake.

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardana said that such incidents could be considered as human errors, but an inquiry will be conducted to help avoid such incidents in the future.

The Minister said the examination officials had no alternative but to keep children to prevent the paper from leaking.
