Blue Star and Police stay unbeaten
Blue Star SC's Mohamed Farzeen continuing his goal scoring spree this
season made no mistake when he dribbled through the tough Saunders SC
defense line to score the only goal of the game to beat Saunders 1-0 at
Vernon Fernando Stadium, yesterday at Kalutara. It was a game enjoyed by
thousands of fans who came to cheer the home team winning against the
Saunders who too had a good game but their forwards did find the correct
target to score during the full 90 minutes of play.
Blue star scored their goal in the 37th minute to go for lemons at
1-0.
After the break both teams played attacking football but were not
successful in scoring goals and the Blue Star now maintains its top
position recording 3 wins out of 4 and drawing the other.
Air Force beat Kalutara Park SC
Air Force was given a torrid time by the young Kalutara Park team
before going down fighting 1-0 at the City Football Complex. Their
custodian the national youth goal keeper Anjana excelled between the
posts to save many shots taken by the Air Force strikers. At lemons the
scores were nil all.
Army-Police a draw
Police continuing to keep their unbeaten record when they managed to
hold strong Army to 1-1 draw.
The match was played at the Kelaniya Football Complex.
It was Army who advanced in the first half to go for lemons with the
score reading 1-0.
Police equalized during the second session to end the game at 1-1.
