Netball Nationals Quarter finalists found

Seylan Bank, Hatton National Bank, Sri Lanka Police and Sri Lanka Air Force put up impressive displays to end up as unbeaten group leaders and the tournament has reached the quarter final stage at the National Netball Championship organised by the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka which is now being worked off at Nittawela Kandy yesterday.

The finals will be played at 3.30 p.m. with the Minister of Sports C.B. Ratnayake as chief guest.

A total of 36 teams had registered to participate in this tournament but 12 teams including Jaffna did not turnup and conceded walkover

Group champions

Group 'A' Champions: Seylan Bank 20 points, top runner-up - Kandy giants 15 points.

Group 'B' Champions: Colombo University 15 points. Runners-up - Heartiants SC. Ja-Ela 10 points.

Group 'C' Champions: Sri Lanka Police 20 points. Runners-up - Speednet SC 15 points.

Group 'D' Champions: Colombo Municipal SC 15 points. Runner-up - FTZ SGI 10 points.

Group 'E'Champions: Hatton National Bank 20 points. Runners-up - Campbell Park SC 15 points.

Group 'F' Champions: Deepthi SC Gampaha 15 points. Runners-up - Holy Family Convent Kurunegala, 10 points.

Group 'G' Champions: Sri Lanka Air Force 20 points. Runners-up - Kandy Girls High School 15 points.

Group 'H' Champions: Holy Family Convent - 15 points. Runners up - University of Sri Jayawardenapura 8 points.
