Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy became champions at the Kandy
Schools Girls Under-15 Hockey Championship organised by the Kandy
District Schools Hockey Association when they beat girls High School,
Kandy 2-0 in the final played at the University grounds, Peradeniya
yesterday. At half-time winners led 1-0.
This final was originally played during the week at Police grounds,
Kandy and the match was called off 14 minutes from the end due to bad
light.
At the time the match was called off Seetha Devi stickers led 1-0.
The 14 minutes of play remaining was continued at Peradeniya
University grounds.
The Seetha Devi stickers continuing from where they left on the first
day, they slammed another goal through centre forward Ayeshi Indunil who
also scored the first goal to put the issue beyond doubt.
By winning this championship title Seetha Devi stickers displayed
that they are once again a force to be reckoned with.

The under-15 boys championship was won for the fifth successive year
by Dharmaraja College when they beat St. Sylveser's College 1-0 in the
final played at Kandy same venue.
The Rajans winning goal came in the first minute of the extra time
off the stick of centre forward Rameel Dharmaratne.
The Rajans have now won the under-15 hockey title 8 times in 9 years.
The other year they finished runners-up.
