Eight foreign naval vessels at Presidential fleet review
The Sri Lanka Navy received solidarity from the friendly Navies, when
President Mahinda Rajapaksa received the salute of eight foreign war
ships at the Presidential Fleet Review held in view of the diamond
jubilee celebrations of the Sri Lanka Navy yesterday at the Colombo
Port.
Eight foreign war ships which arrived at Colombo Port and Sri Lanka
Navy ship Sayura took part in the event.
The officers and the sailors on board the Indian Naval Sailing ship
INS Tharangini, Russian Naval Ship Admiral Vinogrado, Chinese Navy Ship,
Lanzhou, Pakistan Naval Ship PNS Zulfiquar, Pakistan Naval ship BNS Umar
Farood, HMTS Chonburi of the Royal Thai Navy, Indian Naval ship Iris
Alvand and Indian Naval Ship INS Mysore accorded their salute to
President Mahinda Rajapaksa who was on board the Presidential Yachat,
fast Attack Craft P444 P442.
On December the Naval fleet and the Northern and Eastern Naval
Commands received Presidential Colours from the President to coincide
with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Sri Lanka Navy.
