Menon says ready to help, but won’t interfere:

Shankar Menon said that Sri Lanka should have its own home-grown
solutions for the problems of its people in the North and the East
and that other parties elsewhere including in Tamil Nadu should not
worry if those people are happy.

Adverse effects of reckless construction
The rainy weather continuing for over a month has adversely affected
people in the country. There was no sun light for more than three weeks
in some areas thus leaving over 160,000 people in several districts
including in the North homeless due to floods, flashfloods and
landslides.
