Guru Society Convention

in commemoration of the platinum jubilee year of the establishment of
Guru Society will be held on December 19 and 20, at the Bandaranaike

Convention Hall hosted and organised by the Sree Narayana Guru
Society, Sri Lanka. The society held a media briefing to adhere the
public
about the convention last week in Colombo. The Global Convention will
be filled with interactive
sessions and activities
held over two days. Eminent thinkers and philosophers of diverse
backgrounds will address the convention covering a broad range of
thought provoking topics. Philosophical sessions will be conducted on
the first day of the convention and the second day is for a workshop to
arrive at an action plan to take forward the objectives of the
convention
in concrete areas of socio-economic development
of Sri Lanka including development, education, healthcare, deployment
of technology and conservation
of environment and cultural initiatives. ‘It promotes cultural
exchanges and information trade between India and Sri Lanka and we hope
to link with the High Commission
of India as well to further strengthen the efforts’ said T S
Prakash.“Providing scholarships for local students for undergraduate
and postgraduate studies in India. The Organisation also hopes to
introduce Sinhala Language in India and conversely
Hindi and Sanskrit languages in Sri Lanka”, said the President of the
Guru Society M K Rahulan.
