Dusty nominated to CIM IBT
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the world's largest and
most prestigious professional body for marketing with over 60,000
members worldwide. It is the only Institute that offers the Chartered
status in the marketing industry. An International Board of Trustees (IBT)
governs the CIM.
CIM's Sri Lanka branch has made its mark as the fastest growing CIM
body with representatives on the IBT since 2001. Mano Thittawella, Dr.
Uditha Liyanage, Lasantha Wickremasooriya, Shiraz Latiff and Suren
Rajanathan have held positions on the IBT allowing CIM Sri Lanka region
to lobby for a stronger voice on the CIM IBT and greater involvement in
policy making.
These past achievements signify the recognition that CIM Sri Lanka
Region has earned amongst the CIM international community, and the value
it has created to the local membership through the years.
This year, Dusty Alahakoon has been nominated to the IBT. Alahakoon
is a Chartered Marketer and Fellow of the Institute.
He also holds a MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management,
University of Sri Jayawardenepura and currently reads for a PHD in

beverage, he is presently the Chief Operating Officer at Asia Pacific
Brewery (Lanka) Limited.
