By Mohammed Naalir
The 10th International Processed Food and Packaging Exhibition 'Pro
foods pack 2011" organised by Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA)
will be held at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre
from August 26 to 28.
Sri Lanka's complete food supply chain will be showcased during the
exhibition.
The exhibition will provide opportunities for individuals and
companies to introduce their products, technology and services.
This is a public private partnership exhibition to be held with the
support of the Ministry of Industries and Commerce and the Ministry of
Agriculture Development.
The exhibition site will consist of over 200 stalls covering the
total area of the food supply chain.
It will provide opportunities for investors, traders and consumers to
see first-hand, the availability of opportunities in this industry.
The event will showcase the latest products in the local processed
food industry, sampling of consumer favourites, innovations and
technology development in packaging, newest agricultural machinery and
services, processed food hygiene education and more.
The North and the East possess an unmatchable capacity for
production, specially in agriculture, and the organisers will be mapping
out their strategies, taking into account the positive changes that are
expected to take place when the exhibition is held.
"One important aspect of our plans is to transfer the advanced
technologies to the newly developing areas", said a member of the
organising committee. |
