IDP students to sit GCE O/L exam

Internally displaced students from the North are eagerly waiting to sit the G.C.E. (O/L) examination which commences tomorrow, Northern Province Education Ministry Secretary Ilangowan said.

Eventhough some are internally displaced they are sitting the examination to brighten their future following the restoration of peace and prosperity in the region, he said.

Two thousand five hundred and ninety eight internally displaced students in the Northern Province are due to sit the examination this year.

He said that 22,608 students will sit the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in the province.

Apart from the 2,598 internally displaced students, 20,016 other students will also sit the examination in their schools, the Secretary said.

He said that all arrangements have been finalised for the internally displaced students to sit the examination in their schools.
