Heroin smuggling racket - police hunt foreigner

The police are on the trail of a foreigner who is wanted in
connection with the Rs.300 million heroin smuggling racket which was
detected at the Colombo Port on Thursday by Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB)
and the Customs.
A Pakistani, two multi-millionaire Muslim businessman and a wharf
clerk have been already taken into custody. “They are being interrogated
by the police. An international and local narcotic import-export racket
has been busted,” said Police Media Spokesman SSP Preshantha Jayakody.
Fifty kilograms of heroin packed in gunny bags were found among
artificial potatoes of varying sizes made of Plaster of Paris. The
container had arrived at the Colombo Port from Karachchi, Pakistan.
