Thomian Neomal jumps into top spot in All-Island Contest and
Vimukthi creeps into the lead in Outstation Contest

OBSERVER-MOBITEL AWARDS: Thomian leg spinner Neomal Wickremasekera
sprang into the top spot polling (4,107) votes, ousting Anandian
Sachitra Perera (4,043) in the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer 2011
All-Island category, while Panadura, Royal’s prolific scorer D. Vimukthi
(3,002) took over the number one position from C. Dilshan (2,891) of
Maris Stella in the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer 2011 in the
Outstation category at the end of count number 3 in the Observer/Mobitel
Schoolboy Cricketer of The Year 2011 competition. At the end of counting
on Coupon No. 2, Wickremasekera had polled 1,792 and was placed fourth.
The Josephian captain and Under 19 Schools representative Chaturanga
Kumara who was placed second, has dropped down to the number 4 position.
In the Outstation category, besides the top place taken by Dishan
Vimukthi of Royal, Panadura, Janith Chaturanga Perera of Maliyadeva
College has taken the third place ahead of Sanjika Ridma (St. Servatius,
Matara) who is presently fourth.
