Saliya Kumara capable of taking Kandy S.C. to great heights

RUGBY: Sri Lanka's full back Saliya Kumara has been appointed captain
of Kandy Sports Club for the forthcoming inter-club rugby season.
Saliya Kumara who is a regular member of the national rugby team,
first played for Vidyartha College and later turned out with distinction
for Trinity College - upto 2003.
He played for Havelocks SC from 2000 to 2005 and for CH and FC in
2006 before returning to his home town Kandy in 2007.
He has been a member of the Sri Lanka team from 2006 and has played a
major role in Kandy winning both the League and Knockout titles in the
year he had represented Kandy SC.
He has toured many countries with the national team including four
trips to the Five Nations tournament in Singapore and the HongKong
Seven.
A fine player manning the last line of defence and he could also play
as scrum-half a position he plays for the national team in the seven
games.
Kandy should reach higher goals and perform even better under his
leadership.
