Jaffna stall at Panagoda Camp

The Security Forces Command in Jaffna has set up a stall at the premises of the Army Camp in Panagoda with goods from Jaffna including sea food items at the Sinhala-Hindu New Year ‘Pola’.

The stall has been set up by Jaffna Security Forces Commander Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe to make available goods from Jaffna for people in the South, sources said.

Apart from vegetables, sea food and food items made out of palmyra, the handicrafts from Jaffna will also be sold at the Army stall.

The unique feature of the Jaffna stall is that soldiers, men and women from Jaffna will be clad in traditional Jaffna attire and speak with a Jaffna accent in Tamil.

The stall will remain open till this evening, sources said. AP
