CRICKET: Fast bowler Ramesh Subasinghe snapped up six wickets for 48 to give NCC a good first innings lead over Tamil Union on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier 'A' cricket tournament match which continued at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval yesterday.

NCC: 225 and 227 for 2 (D. Chandimal 128, C. Kapugedera 74 n.o).

Tamil Union: 121 (S. Serasinghe 20, J. Mendis 56, K. Kulasekera 2 for 44, R. Subasinghe 6 for 48).

Himesh puts CCC on victory course

Opening bowler Himesh Silva returned excellent figures of four wickets for nine runs to put CCC on course to an outright victory over Lankan CC on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier 'A' cricket tournament match which continued at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

Lankan CC: 233 and 30 for 7 (H. Silva 4 for 9, D. Gunatilleke 2 for 2).

CCC: 204 (K. Withanage 36, M. Gajanayake 29, D. Gunatilleke 30, R. Perera 21, S. Saman 5 for 58, H. Fernando 4 for 57).

BRC takes 1st innings lead

Skipper Nimesh Perera hit a top score of 84 with five sixes and eight boundaries as the BRC took a good first innings lead over Seeduwa Raddoluwa SC on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier 'B' cricket tournament match which continued at Havelock Park yesterday.

Seeduwa RSC: 177 and 176 for 6 (H. Gunatilleke 52, U. Fernando 37 n.o, Y. Tillekeratne 27, M. Madushanka 2 for 70).

Veteran left arm spinner Suwanji Madanayake snapped up four wickets for 32 to give Moors SC a huge first innings lead over Panadura CC on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier 'B' cricket tournament match which continued at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Opener Rajitha Ratnayake hit an unbeaten half century as Sri Lanka Air Force SC reached 125 for 4 in reply to Army SC's first innings total of 338 runs on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier 'B' cricket tournament match which continued at Panagoda yesterday.

Rasanga helps Navy reach 300

Wicket keeper batsman Ranil Rasanga hit a fighting 75 with three sixes and nine boundaries as Sri Lanka Navy SC took a good first innings lead over Singha SC Ambalangoda on the second day of their SLC Premier League Tier 'B' cricket tournament match which continued at Welisara yesterday.

Singha SC: 136 and 158 for 4 (L. Ashen 45, M. Kumara 46, L. Moshin 22 n.o, T. Rajakaruna 21 n.o, D. Kalhara 3 for 45).
