Joes-Trinity clash in T/20 final

(T20 Cricket). It will be a Josephian - Trinity clash in the 'Munchee' Schools Under 19 Twenty 20 cricket final at the SSC grounds today commencing at 1.40 pm.

The Joes beat Thurstan comfortably by 87 runs in the first semi-final while Trinity got the better out of Mahinda beating them by 13 runs in the second semi-final.

In the first semi-final St. Joseph's rattled up an impressive 170 for 7 in their 20 overs. Kevin Bernadus (40) and Sadeera Samarawickrema (51) were the main run getters. For Thurstan Ranindu Lakmal took 5 for 31. Thurstan in their turn managed only 83 with Fabian Fernando and Rosco Thathil taking three wickets apiece.

In the second semi-final between Mahinda College and Trinity College, Mahinda after restricting their opponents for 110 in their 20 overs were bowled out for 97 in 19 overs. Amil Anas (5 for 16) was the pick of the Trinity bowlers. For Mahinda Sachith Lakmal (40), Nirwantha Thikshila (21) added 44 runs for the fourth wicket.

1st semi-final
