For the first time Miss Earth crown in Sri Lanka

Miss Earth an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness is one of the three largest beauty pageants in the world today, the other two being Miss Universe and Miss World contests.

For the first time in our island, Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Earth will be conducted by Big Time Image Makers who in the past have produced "image makers" who have shone in the pageantry world. So here's your opportunity to participate in Mr & Miss Sri Lanka 2011. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Earth is a symbol of Co-operation and unity towards a universal goal of saving Mother Earth.

In addition, there will be three other crowns to vie for - Model of the World, Tourism International and Petite International.

Females under 5'5" you will not be left out in the cold. Petite Sri Lanka is just up your street, so send in your entries fast.

The guys too have a platform to prove their talent to take part in Mr. Sri Lanka for Model of the World and Asia Pacific Model Search.

The gateway to stardom beckons you! If you are between the ages of 17 and 35 and endowed with brains and brawn send in your entries to The Presenters, 27/3A, Hotel Road, Mount Lavinia on or before June 18, 2011. Last year Vietnam hosted Miss Earth in the resort island of Vinpearl in the beautiful city of Nha Trang. Eighty-four participants were given the opportunity to see and spread their environmental messages in several beautiful cities and tourist destinations in Vietnam. Recognising the urgent need to spread environmental awareness and encourage people to take action to mitigate the effects of our sustainable use and abuse of the natural resources, Miss Earth has the important responsibility to achieve this mission.

The current Miss Earth title holder is Nicole Faria of India who was crowned on December 4, 2010, Miss Earth 2010. This year 2011, who knows you may wear that glittering crown and spread the all important message of environmental awareness.
