Winners of the Young Lions Competition were announced by the
representative of Cannes Lions International Festival in Sri Lanka - The
Metal Factor, at the Green Chillies Fest held at the Taj Samudra in
Colombo recently. From the nine teams that participated representing
leading advertising agencies of the country, the art-copy team from
Triad won the print category in the local leg of the competition to
participate at The Cannes Advertising Festival 2011.
The task set for the young creatives was to convince the target
audience that the Daily News is unbiased and delivers real stories.
Triad's creative campaign was based on the idea that the Daily News
"tells it like it is" and gives the reader the bare facts.
The ecstatic team from Triad said, "We are so thrilled to have won
locally so that we have an opportunity to really fly the Sri Lanka flag
at a global forum. Our credo "Sri Lanka Can" will inspire us to give it
our best shot, when faced with tough competition from highly talented
young creative minds from around the world.
A Sri Lankan team is yet to win this competition at Cannes, the
world's most prestigious creative awards and that gives us courage to
really strive for excellence". |
