Whale watching operations shifted
The Sri Lanka Navy which launched a cruise for whale watching in the
Southern seas off Galle in January this year will shift its whale
watching operations to the Eastern seas, off Trincomalee with its
inaugural sailing commencing on June 6 from Trincomalee, Navy Spokesman
Commander Kosala Warnakulasooriya said.
The inaugural sailing in Trincomalee will be tomorrow.
Warnakulasooriya said the ideal season for whale watching in the
Eastern seas begins in May and continues till September.
The ideal season for Galle, is from November to April, he said. RW
