Muslims not affected by leadership training

At a meeting held last week with the S.B. Dissanayake Minister of Higher Education, Ministry Secretary Dr. Navaratne and the Chairman of the University Grants Commission regarding matters related to Muslim male and female students selected for University Studies. Muslim students can follow their Leadership training without any difficulties at Army Camps. Thus, politicising and criticising this issue should be strictly avoided.

In the event of any Muslim student facing problems in this regard, if we are immediately contacted, we are ready to take appropriate action. I wish to point out that up to now, on inquiries made from students attending their leadership training in various army camps, it is confirmed that they have not been confronted with any difficulties, said Deputy Minister of Child Development and Women’s Affairs Al Haj M. L. A. M. Hizbullah.
