Havelocks hope for better returns with inclusion of two foreign
players

RUGBY: Havelock Sports Club who had a miserable season last year
which they wish to forget vowed to bounce back this season and recapture
their past glory by entering the winning streak again in the rugby
arena.
One of the oldest rugby playing clubs in the country, Havelock Sports
Club will be sponsored by Nation Lanka Finance (PLC) which will no doubt
provide a tremendous boost to the club.
Ana Saranapala, the Director, Rugby and Coaching Havelock SC said
that the club had an awful season last year, but they are determined to
come back strongly this year with the help of some of finest schoolboys
and two foreigners to play in the team.
The SLRFU had granted permission to the last year's tournament's
bottom seeded four clubs, including Havelocks to include two foreign
players. The club has sought the services of 25-year-old Angsta Sae (No.
8 from Samoa) and the 27-year-old Centre Atelea Uaisele from Tonga.
These two players could well make the difference and provide the shocks
to the other clubs this season.
"The last season was an awful one for us. With the much needed
sponsorship this year, our prime objective is to win a trophy.
We have recruited some of the finest schoolboy players and with the
inclusion of the two foreigners, I am confident that we could topple
some of the big sides," said Saranapala.
The President of Havelocks SC Tyronne Coonghe, thanked the sponsors,
saying that the club got something that they were lacking badly, and for
different reasons, it could not maintain their popularity as they could
not live upto expectations.
He expected the members and supporters to rally round the club once
again like they did in the past.
