Chief guest Rear Admiral Jayantha Perera gives away the
Champions Trophy to skipper of the overall champions
Training Command.

The inter command athletic meet of Sri Lanka Navy was held at
Sugathadasa Stadium on 2nd and 3rd June 2011 with participation of over
400 participants. Director General Operations Rear Admiral Jayantha
Perera attended the event as the chief guest. Senior Coordinator
Athletics Commodore Shamal Fernando, Chairman Athletics of SL Navy
Commodore Nishantha Ulugetenna, Senior officers in the area attended the
occasion. Other naval personnel and their family members gathered to
witness the navy players performances.
Women ordinary seaman D.K. Ranasinghe set a new meet record in the
Women's High Jump event with a performance of 1.68 m breaking the 1.64m
record which she set in 2009.
With his spectacular performance the leading athlete Able Seaman
K.M.P. de Silva of North Central Naval Command was crowned as the Best
Athlete. The Training Command won the championship as the best Command.
The winners of respective events were awarded medals and championships
by the chief guest.
