Speedy solution to national question:
Devananda advocates Select Committee
Minister Douglas Devananda presented a proposal to
President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the visiting Indian delegation that a
Parliamentary Select Committee be appointed to find a speedy solution to
the national question in the country.

Polls in 64 LG bodies on July 23
Elections for 64 Local Government bodies of the
remaining 67 will be held on July 23. Elections Commissioner Mahinda
Deshapriya postponed the election of three Local Government bodies in
Chilaw, Muhudubadapattu and Pudukudiiruppu.
