Prime Lands, Grameen Micro Credit amalgamate

Prime Lands (Pvt) Ltd has entered the finance industry by joining Grameen Micro Credit Co Ltd, rebranding as Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd. Grameen was the pioneer micro finance institution in Sri Lanka to empower rural women to take a leading role in supporting families to overcome poverty through self-employment projects. It was also the first organisation to introduce an insurance cover to the self-employed in Sri Lanka. Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd will continue with this product.


Flexiprint wins Presidential Export Merit Award


Managing Director Flexiprint Sathis Abeywickrama receiving the Presidential Export Merit Award from the EDB Chairman EDB.

Flexiprint (Pvt) Ltd - supplier of tea bag tags and envelopes to the tea bagging industry was the only printer to win an award at the Presidential Export Awards 2011 at Temple Trees recently. "Flexiprint now holds a significant 58 percent of the tea bag manufacturing market in Sri Lanka," said Managing Director of Flexiprint (Pvt) Ltd, Sathis Abeywickrama. "Other than our prestigious clientele in the Sri Lankan tea bag trade, we now service customers worldwide covering major markets such as Dubai, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kenya, India, Australia and New Zealand.

 

 

 

 


HNB opens customer centre in Anamaduwa

Hatton National Bank opened its 212th Customer Centre in Anamaduwa recently. The chief guest was Assistant General Manager (Specialised Financial Services) Hatton National Bank R.M.P. Dayawansa. A large number of senior bankers, government officials, local businessmen and customers were present.

 

 

 

 

 


Hameedia opens second store in Kandy

Hameedia recently took its products and its services to the "happening place" in the central hill capital - the Kandy City Centre (KCC). The chief guest at the inauguration of this second exclusive Hameedia Menswear Store was Managing Director Fouzul Hameed and the guest of honour was the founder Chairman of the KCC Thusitha Wijesena.

 


New COO at ODEL

Sri Lanka's fashion and lifestyle retailer ODEL has appointed international retail sales specialist William R. Pinkston III, as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Pinkston who holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Management degree from the University of Florida, has over 25 years experience in retail operations.
