Subhagya SC in 109-run win

CRICKET: A fine fifth-wicket partnership between Sri Lanka star Chandana Desapriya 147 which included 21 fours and Sunil Weerasinghe 62 inclusive of 3 fours which realised 213 runs helped Subhagya Sports Club, Moneragala to score an easy 109 run win over Senehasa SC Beliatta.

Suranga Sampath also chipped in with fine knock of 58 runs. Subhagya rattled up 356 in 38.3 overs. Senehasa made 247 for 9 wickets in their reply in their alloted 40 overs.

Nalinda (56), Upul Sanjeeva (49) and Damith 33 batted adequately in the second match of the tournament Ranaviru Sevana scored a convincing 81-run win over Senehasa Sports Club.

The soldiers rattled up 313 for 6 wickets in their alloted 40 overs. Skipper Ruwan Karunatilleke made 67, Ekanayake 55, Ravindra 52 and Samantha 62 not out.

Despite a fine opening partnership by skipper Samantha Rajapakse 35 with six fours and Sulochana Gunawardena (97 not out) with 6 fours Senehasa SC were able to make only 231 6 wickets in their 40 overs. Chinthaka made 35.
