Acclaim for Lankan ballet in Melbourne

The founder and Director of Ama Dance Academy, Ms. Ama Siriwardana together with her 200 students staged "Asokamala", the Guudi Princess ballet in July at the Besen Centre, Burwood, Australia, making history as the first ever Sri Lankan ballet production in Melbourne.

With an outstanding audience of 1000 Ama Dahara 2011 was announced as an history making event by many art lovers in Melbourne .

Ama Dahara is a dance event organised by Ama Dance Academy one of the primer Sri Lankan dance schools in Melbourne. Every two years it promises to be the highlight of Melbourne's classical and modern dance calendar.

It gives a glimpse of the veriety and entertainment not only for the Sri Lankan community in Melbourne but also to anyone who has an appreciation for the Eastern dancing forms.
