National Chamber business delegation to Vietnam
With the setting up of the Vietnam Embassy in Sri Lanka, many
bilateral trade opportunities between Sri Lanka and Vietnam have
increased. At the recently held discussion at the National Chamber of
Commerce of Sri Lanka,(NCCSL) the Vietnamese Ambassador, Ton Sinh
Thanh,said that there are many opportunities in exports, imports,
investments and tourism to develop businesses. He said that if direct
flights are introduced between Sri Lanka and Vietnam, two-way tourism
could become one of the major economic activities between the two
countries.
The NCCSL is planning to send a 15-member business delegation to
Vietnam to explore business opportunities between the two countries.
The program will consist of meetings with Hochiminh business
community, Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, meetings
with the Ministry of Industries and Trade in Hanoi, visit sites of
archaeological interest.
They will also have an opportunity to study the recent economic and
business development in Vietnam.
The delegation will leave on October 30 and return on November 4. The
visit is arranged with the support of the Vietnam embassy in Sri Lanka
and the Sri Lankan embassy in Vietnam.
