President, Indian PM hold informal talks
President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
held bilateral talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly
yesterday in New York.
The two leaders discussed at length various issues, including
devolution of power and resettlement of those who were displaced. India
is assisting a robust program of assistance to help these persons return
to normal life as quickly as possible.
At the meeting, they acknowledged the need to enhance cooperation in
the political, economic and cultural spheres.
