'Steve Jobs will be truly missed'

The passing away of Steve Jobs, co-founder and chairman of Apple Inc. is a huge blow to the e-age which the world believes that the leading light in the digital age has been lost. National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, President Asoka Hettigoda said that Jobs revolutionsed the way of doing business. His innovations have changed lifestyles.

Jobs legacy will remain. Softlogic Holdings Chairman Ashoka Pathirage said the death of Apple co-founder is a great loss to the world which had been transformed by his innovations. Jobs was a visionary with extraordinary skills. The death of Jobs is a personal loss to Apple fans across the world.

He was a genius who had a profound influence on the modern world. President Mahinda Rajapaksa expressing his condolences over the death of Jobs said that his contribution is appreciated by all. Jobs was an American computer entrepreneur and innovator. He was co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Jobs also previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, following the acquisition of Pixar by Disney.

Jobs announced his resignation from his role as Apple’s CEO end August. On October 5, 2011, Jobs died in California at age 56, seven years after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed, but is believed to be due to pancreatic cancer which he was suffering from.
