It’s today - the glamorous night when Ms Asia World will be crowned and the Sunday Observer Most Popular contestant announced and Ms Lanka 2011 crowned with pomp and pageantry.

The Galadari Hotel, will showcase this extravaganza, not to be missed.

After 16 years of “Ms. Lanka” “Beauty for a Cause” “Ms. Asia World” Beauty Pageant will be held to benefit a lucky contestant who will bring pride to this country of ours. Gwendoline Kuhatheva organizer “Ms. Asia World” in Sri Lanka assures you that tonight will be an exceptionally elegant entertaining event. So don’t be left out in the cold. Be a part of all the glamour and the glitz.

“Ms. Sunday Observer Most Popular” contestant will receive - the crown, sash and trophy and a return air ticket to Bangalore, basket of flowers from Sterling Flowers, and a voucher to the value of Rs. 50,000/- for NVQ level 4 beautician course at Technique International.

“Ms. Lanka-2011” will receive - crown, sash and trophy and a return air ticket to Bangalore, basket of flowers from Sterling Flowers, and a voucher to the value of Rs. 50,000 for a course of her choice in hairdressing, beauty therapy and spa therapy at Technique International.

Ms. Asia World in Sri Lanka will receive - crown, sash and trophy and a return air ticket to Bangalore, basket of flowers from Sterling Flowers, camera from “Olympus” browns, and a voucher to the value of Rs. 100,000 for the full Diploma course in hairdressing & beauty therapy at Technique International.

1st, 2nd and 3rd runners-up will receive - sash and trophy, gift vouchers from sponsors and flowers from Sterling Flowers.

Ms. Asia World in Sri Lanka beauty pageant in aid of Education and Vocational Training for the differently abled and under-privileged. “Ms. ASIA WORLD” in Sri Lanka” organised by Gwendoline Kuhatheva - Director of Business Development & Education - Technique International (Pvt) Ltd. Institute of Vocational Studies for Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Spa Therapy.

Choreography is by Nirmala Dissanayake and Chief Co-ordinator is Lion Anne Gunesekara

Mini titles was held on October 1 and 2 at the SLECC.

The Judges for Ms. Elegance and Ms. Cat Walk were: Fathima Niluta - AL Khateej Abaya, Ushara Lankatilika - Senior Co-ordinator - PICO Events, Janet Gunesekera - Founder President - Kidney Patients Welfare Society, R. Princely - Seles Manager - ReeBonn Cosmetics, Mohamed Shiraz - Sales Manager - Fashion Bug, Srina Ranasinge - Director - Orchid Transportation and Dulip Soysa - Brand Group Manager - Brown & Company.

The Judges for Ms. Traditional Look & Ms. Crowning Glory were Girty Weerasinghe - a social worker who helps under-privileged children, Milanie Jayaweera - Salon Strands, Shabeer Nagoor - Fashion Bug, Gihan Indika - PICO Events and Ms. Asia 2011 - Sameeri Perera.The Compere on the both days was Lion Ann Gunasekera.The team from Technique International the School of Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, is led by Geetha Kanakarathna and Nirmala Dissanayake are in charge of designing outfits for mini titles, and the Hair, Make-up and Dressing assisted by Nilusha Kariyawasam, Wathasala Hemakumari, Pushpa Damayanthi, Akila Sewwandi, Rosita Wiggin, Roshini Gamage, Nayomi Nonis, Piumi Shashikala, Janiththa Kulenthirasa, Nishanthini Vamathevan, Sasireka Sinnathurai, Krushanthy Parameswaran, Shereen Wijethunge and Eshani Jinasena.
