Cambrians win by eight wickets

Prince of Wales' College, Moratuwa beat Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda by eight wickets in their inter-school under-19 cricket match worked off at Moratuwa.

Sokians taking the first lease scored 228 runs with Yohan de Silva top scoring with 84 runs including thirteen hits to the ropes. Shanuka Dulaj captured 5 for 68 while Devaka Dabare took 4 for 54 for Cambrians.

In reply Cambrians declared at 231 for 8 with Ashan Mendis (77 with nine fours and one six) while Kusal Mendis contributed 47 runs, Ramesh Mendis picked up 5 for 51 for the visitors.

In their second essay Sokians declared at 144 for 8 leaving a target of 142 runs to win and homesters notched up the required total for the loss of two wickets with Ashen Mendis unbeaten on 69 runs and Kusal Mendis scoring 37 runs.
