Axis Bank launched in Sri Lanka
Axis Bank sees a lot potential in Sri Lanka for trade and cross
border flows said Axis Bank of India Chairman, Dr. Adarsh Kishore. He
was addressing a ceremony to launch the bank in Sri Lanka on Friday.
He said Axis Bank wants to add a new dimension to investment banking
in Sri Lanka and added that it is not in Sri Lanka to compete and cut
into the territory of other banks. Axis Bank which is the third largest
private sector bank in India is in over seven countries providing a wide
spectrum of services to the large and medium corporates.
Axis Bank will focus on developing Investment banking and
infrastructure development in Sri Lankan”, Dr. Kishore said.
The bank further looks forward to participating in small and medium
enterprises, agriculture, retail banking, infrastructure projects and
remittances.
“The Sri Lankan banking sector is well-developed and Axis Bank will
participate in the infrastructure development in the country”, an
official of the bank said.
He said Axis Bank will keep a vigilant eye on the economic pulse of
Sri Lanka and contribute to the development of the country.
We see a promising economy in Sri Lanka with enormous opportunities
for trade and investment.
Axis Bank Managing Director/CEO, Shikha Sharma said Axis Bank is very
excited about its operations in Sri Lanka.
