Awareness program on White Cane Day

An Awareness Meeting on white cane day will be held on Monday October 24th, at the New Town Hall, Colombo 7, commencing at 3.00 pm. The meeting will be preceded by a 'White Cane walk' from the Vihara Maha Devi Park, Colombo 7.

Minister of Agrarian Services and Wild Life S.M. Chandrasena, will be the chief guest and Mrs. T. Kodithuwakku, chairperson, M/s Oreal Slk (Pvt) Ltd will be the Guest of Honour at the meeting.

The day's programme will include presentation on the significance of International White Cane Day by the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and officials of the Federation and distribution of White Canes and financial grants for establishment of self-employment projects to selected members followed by musical performance.
