The ‘Magic Clean’ campaign was launched to create awareness and
educate the public on the importance of cleanliness of toilets, other
surfaces and a germ-free home.
The Magic Clean activation Campaign target is to reach19,000
households. The team has visited 15,400 households.
Magic Clean’s message is expected to reach about 66,000 households in
total, said Senior Manager Surface Care Category of Reckitt Benckiser
Shenali Wickramaarachchi, .
Harpic and Lysol are two cleaning and disinfectant brands from
Reckitt Benckiser Company.
There is a belief that a surface that looks clean is also germ-free.
However, studies in different countries have shown that surfaces that
look clean can be infected with germs. Without using a proper cleaning
product – it is not possible to remove the germs, which lead to various
germ-borne diseases.
The “Magic Clean” Campaign, has trained teams to visit households and
educate consumers on the importance of cleaning and disinfection.
They also demonstrate the proper use of Harpic and Lysol on different
surfaces to get a hygienic, clean and germ free surface.
Managing Director for Sri Lanka Rahul Murgai said, “Research carried
across most countries show that the public is oblivious to the
importance of hygienic cleaning and unaware of health risks from disease
causing germs that could be transferred from various surfaces. It is
important to raise awareness about good hygiene habits that can reduce
the risk of illness.”
Wickramaarachchi, said, “Some of the places that the team visited
include Kochchikade, Embilipitiya, Seeduwa, Tangalle, Gampaha,
Wasgamuwa, Kelaniya, Dikwella, Mabole, Matara, Kotikawatte, Avissawella,
Maradana, Kegalle and Yakkala.
Head of marketing of Reckitt Benckiser Tanzim Rezwan said, “It is our
