GAs in peace-building program

Government Agents (GAs) will be transferred from the South to the North and vice versa under the Government's peace building program, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W. D. J. Seneviratne said.

The Minister expressed confidence that the proposed program will help bridge the gap between the South and the North. In the first phase of this program the Mullaitivu GA will be transferred to the South, the Moneragala GA will be transferred to Mannar and the Mannar GA sent to Mullaitivu, the Minister said.

The Kilinochchi GA will also be transferred, according to Minister Seneviratne.

The Minister said the Government has created an atmosphere in the country where all communities could live in unity and peace. The Government has implemented various programs to restore mutual relationship between the South and the North. With a view to achieving this goal, the Government has undertaken this program, he said.
