The inauguration
ceremony of ‘Lowa Dinana Kreeda Shakthi’ was held recently
at Temple Trees, under the patronage of President Mahinda
Rajapaksa. The event was held to encourage sportsmen and
sportswomen who were selected from rural areas covering 17
sports to reach national and international standards. The
talented youth who were selected received the certificates
from President Rajapaksa. Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage
and the Managing Director of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation
Mohan De Alwis are also in the picture.
Ambassador for France
in Sri Lanka Christine Robichon paid a courtesy call on
Minister of
Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Dr. Rajitha
Senaratne at the Ministry recently. They discussed bilateral
issues related to the development of fisheries and the
technical knowhow from France for manufacturing fishing and
leisure boats.

Mithuro Hathdena
and Nidhanaya will be staged on Friday 24 at 10.30 a.m., 12,
2.30 and 6.30 p.m. at the Pannala Town Hall. It is a
presentation by the Giriulla Childrens’ and Youths’ Dancing
School.
