LAUGFS invests Rs. 45m on bottled water plant

Officials of LAUGFS Aqua Systems (Pvt) Ltd., a subsidiary of LAUGFS Supermarkets Ltd., which produces bottled water and distributes bottled water-under the 'LAUGFS Aqua' brand laid the foundation stone to build an ultra-modern automated water bottling plant at Kottawa.

Accordingly, LAUGFS will invest Rs.45 million on the new project which would increase the company's production capacity to meet the increasing demand.

Chairman LAUGFS Holdings Limited W.K.H. Wegapitiya said that 'LAUGFS Aqua' having entered into the bottled water segment 10 years ago and having identified the new economic prosperity in the country decided to expand its operations to become a leader in the bottled water sector in the country.

"The new bottling plant would fulfil our supply demand and we hope to commence the operation of the new plant within three months. After commencing of the operations of the plant we would be in a better position to promote our product across the country with a new distribution and retail network," he said.
